All INDUcoder absolute shaft encoders with solid shaft and standard package diameter of 58 mm are now available with hollow shaft and the interfaces SSI, INTERBUS, PROFIBUS, CANopen®, Device Net, Parallel and ETHERNET Powerlink.

The presented ABSOLUT NO SHAFT ENCODERS CAH 57 SSI, CAH 58 Profibus/CANBUS and CAH58 Interbus are manufactured with hollow shaft with diameters 8, 10, 12, or 15 mm and with resolutions 12, 13 and 16 bit per revolution as single-turn and multi-turn encoders with measurement range of 4,096 and 16,384 revolutions. Data format for output is binary code or Gray code. Supply voltage is 10 - 30 VDC.

Mounting of the absolute encoders with hollow shaft is easy. Due to the slotted hollow shaft and the clamping ring the shaft is exactly centred on the drive shaft. This avoids errors of measurement, as they occur when fixing the hollow shaft by using grab screws. A shaft coupling is not necessary. Compared to standard encoders with solid shaft the mounting is space saving. The assembled spring mounting is torsion stiff and absorbs shaft displacement safely.

Because of the high resolution the absolute hollow shaft encoders are suitable for high precision angular measurement tasks.

Due to the wide range of interfaces the device can easily be integrated into existing installation.

As an option we manufacture these encoders with stainless steel housing. Due to the stainless steel housing the encoders are extremely resistant to rough environmental conditions and can be used also for standard packing diameters of 58 mm.
