Manual Encoder EEM 70

INDUcoder has developed a robust manual pulse generator with magnetic click-stop, the MANUAL ENCODER EEM 70.

This new MANUAL ENCODER EEM 70 is based on our particularly reliable incremental encoder STANDARD SHAFT ENCODER EE 58. Therefore all resolutions from 1 to 10,000 pulses per revolution are available for EEM 70. Due to this unusually high resolution for manual pulse generators, EEM 70 is especially suitable for controller whose ability of factor selection is restricted or not provided.

The magnetic click mechanism with 100 click-stop position consists of a rotor and a stator made of machined solid metal. It is connected to the optical electronic encoder only by the unique shaft. This avoids negative reaction to the optical scanning. The rotating knob has an outer diameter of 70 mm. The required torque for operation is configured according to customer's request up to 20 Ncm. Due to the high torque, the compact design and the SMD technology, MANUAL ENCODER EEM 70 is extremely resistant to vibration and shock.

Supply voltage is 5 VDC or 10 - 30 VDC. The 90° phase shifted square-wave signals A and B are transmitted (inverted and not inverted) via RS422 line driver or via push-pull outputs. Therefore interference proof transmission over a large distance is guaranted. For electrical connection of supply voltage and output signals, terminal connectors for wires with a cross-section of max. 1,5 mm² are mounted on the rear cover. Shielding of the lead wires is connected either with a 6.3 mm flat connector or with an M3 cable lug to the metal housing of MANUAL ENCODER EEM 70.

For easy installation MANUAL ENCODER EEM 70 is equipped with a central thread M15 x 1. Due to the high protection class IP 65 of the front side and high shock resistance of 100 g, the robust manual pulse generator EEM 70 is especially suitable for rough environmental conditions.
